Biografia: Back in October 2001, three of the actual members: Carlos (guitars), Jorge (lead guitars) and Ricardo (drums) whom already have enjoyed a tight camaraderie since high school and had breathed sonic fire into otherwise quite suburban streets agreed that few in the outside knew about it. But the lack of a proper local to the group unleash their musical creativity among other problems they ended the project soon after.
After five years Carlos, Jorge and Ricardo got together again just for the old times sake, jamming and having a laughs!! But the chemistry and fluent creativity spreading out of that gathering, lead inevitability to a musical evolution in need to be exposed to the outside world!!!
So the strength was reinforced by the arrival of a bassist player Navalhas, a friend of the group. But they still needed a front man to complete this unique project. So that’s when Jonathan arrived invited by the band.
After a year and a half of constant rehearsal, in 2003 they needed to record the themes, so the outside world could know about the project Extraterrestrial Alternative Knowledge.
After persisting gigging and juggling their day occupations they worked their way to a demo.
In May the demo was recorded with 3 originals songs: Juggernaut, D.O.R, Russian Roulette Bullet, recorded, mixed, and produced by Rui Danin at the Trigger Studio in São João da Madeira.
This demo earned pretty good critics by music magazines such as Loud, Rocksound and Blitz, but not only, also radio stations as Antena3 and some local ones showed pleased with the band’s sonority. The months to come were just the divulgation of the band’s unique and original sound.
The EAK’s debut was in April opening a gig to Pitch-black.
By February 2004 EAK was about to deal with a problem, their lead singer, Jonathan decided to leave the band for personal reasons. As if this was not already a huge problem for them, the lack of commitment and availability of the bassist player, EAK felt the need to search for someone that was on the same page they were.
So the hunt began!!
Helder a friend of a long time, after knowing that EAK was searching for a bassist player, started to show interest in joining the band. He had original ideas and influences which catches the attention of the band.
During casting, Paulo was the one who had memorized pretty quickly the songs after only two rehearsals! Also he brought a refreshing sound to EAK’s sonority.
By this time EAK was: Jorge and Carlos on guitars, Helder bass, Ricardo drums and Paulo vocals.
Things started to roll again for EAK. new songs were being made, and so by October EAK started the recording of their first MCD including 8 new themes: 43*, Defusing, 3 Great Giant Steps, Exuviation, O Fydalgo, Gunpowder Mill, Little Red Riddin Wood and My Ball’ s Risk.
